The Planning Commission meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. 
 
Planning Commission agendas, minutes, and staff reports are usually available after 4:00 p.m., the Friday prior to the meeting.  You may access these reports by clicking on the links above, or by contacting the Planning Division Office.

 

MISSION STATEMENT: It is the mission of the Planning Commission to fairly and impartially represent the citizens of the City of Oakdale and those within its sphere of influence on all planning issues brought before the commission; and in so doing apply all applicable laws, policies, ordinances, municipal codes and existing General Plan conditions to decisions and recommendations to the City Council.

GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES: The Planning Commission shall have the power and it shall be its duty:


(a) To prepare and recommend for adoption a comprehensive long term general plan for the physical development of the city and of any land outside its boundaries, as provided for by the conservation and planning laws of the state.
Such plan shall be known as the master plan and may compromise any, all or any combination of the plans specified in Article 5, Chapter 3, Title 7 of the Government Code of the State of California.
(b) To prepare plans based on the master plan and drafts of such regulations, programs, and legislation as may in its judgment be required for the systematic execution of the master plan, and to recommend such plans and measures to the council for adoption.
(c) To act as the advisory agency for the city in connection with the administration of the Subdivision and Map Act of the state and the city subdivision regulations.
(d) To investigate and recommend to the council plans for the improvement and beautification of the city such as the opening, straightening, widening, closing of public streets or parking thereon; the location and improvement of public buildings and public works.
(e) To perform the duties of a planning commission under Articles 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Chapter 3, Title 7 and Article 3, Chapter 4, Title 7 of the Government Code of the State of California.
(f) To perform such other duties as may be imposed on it by the city council by ordinance or resolution. ( Ord . No. 274, § 7; Ord . No. 773, § 1.)
